Ian Cyr
Associate Consultant For Security And CRITICAL INCIDENT RESPONSE Planning
Ian has 24 years of higher education law enforcement experience. He regularly provides instruction on managing critical incidents to colleges and universities across the country in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security and the Texas Engineering Extension Service at Texas A&M University. He has been responsible for incident command during major events and sits on several committees tasked with emergency planning and risk mitigation. Ian is a nationally recognized instructor in implicit bias education and brings an inclusive approach to his planning and facilitation strategy. He holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Westfield State University and a Master’s in Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Ian has assisted in the development of comprehensive emergency management plans for K-12 districts and believes that community strength and resilience is created through education, preparation and partnerships.
Ed Dunn, M.Ed., Cags
Vice President Emeritus
Ed Dunn joined TMS in 2009 after working in Public and Private Schools for 31 years. His experience as a teacher, department head, housemaster, principal, and district-wide director of curriculum has provided him with a thorough understanding of how schools and school finance work. As a consultant, Ed conducted professional development workshops in the areas of curriculum planning, the use of assessment data to inform instruction, standards based instruction, differentiated instruction, and grade reporting.
Ed graduated Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in English & Classical Studies and earned a Master’s degree in English from Duke University. He later participated in the CAGS Educational Leadership program at Bridgewater State and completed the National Institute for School Leadership Program (NISL). Ed currently serves in an advisory role for TMS operations.
Michael Debarge
Associate Consultant For Business Services And Special Projects
Mike joined TMS in 2019 after previously working as an intern for the company. His previous work included assisting on a regional feasibility study.
Mike graduated from Belchertown High School in 2015, and went on to attend Providence College. He graduated from PC in 2019 summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science with departmental honors and a minor in history. He was the recipient of the Downing Award for Excellence in American politics, and was the highest ranked political science major in the Class of 2019. He will begin pursuing his MSc in Conflict Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the Fall of 2020.
Currently, Mike is working with the Lee-Tyringham and Belchertown Public Schools, providing business management services, and is engaged in a special project for the Town of Ware regarding the feasibility of regionalization.
Greg Runyan, M.Ed.
Associate Consultant For Curriculum And Instruction
Greg Runyan has 15 years in education as a high school mathematics and computer science teacher, building level administrator, and curriculum director. Prior to his career in education, Greg was a management consultant with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) and The Yankee Group where he worked on large back office business systems and consulted with companies in the business technology space. He has blended all of his prior experience in his role as Director of Teaching and Learning for the Greenfield Commonwealth Virtual School. His role with TMS is that of consultant to districts accessing our curriculum, instruction, and digital learning services.
Greg holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Vermont, an M.Ed. in Mathematics Education from UMass Amherst, and an M.Ed. in Organizational Management from Endicott College.
